Associate Scientist

This position is open to new graduates. The Associate Scientist will be actively involved in the creation and performance optimization of immunoassays and molecular assays based on microarrays. This role will assist in the development and implementation of methodologies used to evaluate the quality attributes of antibodies, recombinant proteins and peptides for use in diagnostics assays. The Associate Scientist may be called upon to assist other teams within the research and development group, including the discovery and assay development teams.

As an Associate Scientist, you will be involved in the following:

  • Development and optimization of multiplexed immunoassays
  • Automation, verification and validation of immunoassays
  • Interpret data, summarize and present results to other team members
  • Develop and write SOPs, work instructions, and development reports
  • Perform technology transfer from R&D to Manufacturing
  • Data trending analysis
  • Sample management, including procurement of human samples, proteins buffers and critical reagents and keeping track of these materials.
  • Compliance to all Quality and Regulatory requirements

Qualifications

  • BSc or MSc degree, preferably in a biological field
  • Thorough understanding of protein biochemistry and immunology
  • Experience in immunoassay assay development with fluorescence detection technologies
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of experimental design, underlying scientific principles, and the ability to analyze and assess results independently
  • Work well independently as well as in a team environment and have well developed communication, record keeping and organizational skills; be comfortable with changing direction
